#14:54: MIUI 7 arrives an an update tomorrow (August 14) for the Mi2, Mi2S, Mi2A, Mi3, Mi4, Mi Note, Redmi, and Redmi Note. Quite an impressive list considering how dismal most phone makers are with their Android updates. Note that’s only for users in China. The global launch is August 19; presumably the same phones will get the global update.

#15:00: Here comes a new phone, but it’s not the Mi5 – it’s the Redmi Note 2. It gets a speed bump with 2GB of RAM and a new MediaTek Helio X10 chip. Still a 5.5-inch screen. There’s also a Redmi Note 2 Prime, which is basically just the 32GB storage version. These names are getting too convoluted!
#15:02Sales data: 32 million Redmi sales, 25 million Redmi Notes, and 15 million of the Redmi 2 so far. The Redmi 2 is only about halfway through its product cycle.
